Default GT500KR vs 2010 GT500

Does anybody else think the 2010 GT500 is a hell of a bargain when compared to the KR.

I started a thread a few days ago and asked the question "Would you be upset if you bought a KR last year only to have ford basically make the 2010 GT500 the same as last years KR minus the limited production numbers, but adding the upgraded styling."

Gary Paul posted a great comment to the thread and basically said with the KR you got the great hood / pins and a collectors car. This makes sense and I can agree with him. I certainly would be very happy with a KR but just couldn't pull the trigger on an 80K price tag for the car.

However I can pull the trigger on 50K for the 2010 Shelby GT500. I think it is one hell of a car and even at 50K a 540bhp BARGAIN!!!

Ordered 2010 GT500 Kona Blue with White Stripes
Don't want the HIDs (Don't like them)
No Nav for me will buy an aftermarket product that I can manipulate while I'm driving.
The car comes with everything else standard. Just perfect.

Default Gary Paul feel free to take over.

Gary Paul if you want to hijack this thread, be my guest you certainly seem to be very knowledgeable. If it were not for your response to my previous thread I wouldn't have started this one.

Ha your right about driving cars hard. I do too. That is also another good reason to spend the money on a GT500. You don't need to mod it to the point that you void the warranty. Drive the hell out of it and use the powertrain warranty as needed.

Good luck with the 2010 GT500. I just ordered a 2010 GT500 Kona blue with silver stripes. Got the HIDs and nav.

I just got the following email from my dealer. I think I should have the car in early June. We'll see though.

Any idea if the HIDs are gonna slow your delivery down. I heard a few things about late arrivals for HID equipped GT500s?

Dan,

Ford pulls their orders on Thursday. I have an email request into the Ford plan on what timeline they are on. Once I get an order confirmation and a build status from the plant, then I will be able to estimate when the car will actually be here. I will email you tomorrow with that news.

Robert

New to forum, first post. What if you could get a new KR for 64999.00 Would you still take a 2010 GT500? That's the question I having to think about. The dealer close to me has a bunch of left over 09 GT500's and 2 KR's, he stated he would make me a "Sweet" deal on the 09 GT500's.

KR over the 2010 anyday and Im not just saying it because I have one. It is a night and day difference over a stock gt500. Because I have both I can provide a fair comparison. The prices the KR's are at now they are WELL WORTH IT. I paid 57 and some change for mine.

CzyHorse,

I would like to hear your comparison between the 2. They are listing the KR's for 64999.00. Of course, I will be looking to work a better deal than that. I would think because of the 2010 GT500 having the same spec's (HP/Tq) as the KR's and being at this point 15000.00 cheaper, it would be a no brainer to go with the 2010 GT500. Am I wrong??
