I am thinking of buying a 2009 GT500 Shelby, however I have some questions that needs some clarifications if you please.
1. From the car reviews, I noticed that they keep mentioning that it has 4 seats, so they are assuming that people can fit in those back seats. Now my question would be is it really true that people would fit in those tiny back seats ? because when i tried it at the dealer, i looked back and those seats were tiny. i don't think a human can fit there with the those front seats backed up.
2. Unfortunately our dealer, is in't what we call a "Professional". So regarding the stereo system which is I believe the the "Shaker 500" or was it 1000 i am not sure, Now I have no idea what is this, but i think i managed to understand that it supports MP3 and it has a CD Changer. Any other functions I should know about, like special features ?
3. I tried looking for this info on almost all websites. but unfortunately it is not mentioned anywhere. basically my garage is higher than the streets level, so my normal day use car can go up there as long as i drive really slow. now for the GT500 I know its going to scratch either at the front or the back, not mentioning the middle as well. So what i would like to know is "What is the Height of the car its self. as on the Ford web site, they only show the Total height. while I am looking for the "Ride" height, front and back if possible. in order to adjust the height of the ramp on my garage door.
4. Pardon my ignorance, but just for my Information. The GT V8 engine is the same engine in the GT500 but with a Super charge ?
5. How often does the car needs service, I know Ford build cars to live. I mean my Crown Victoria never saw the dealer service center after I bought it. it just keeps on living. But what about the Mustang GT500 Shelby ? does it require a lot of Service visits. to check up on the Super charge ?
6. What are the most issues you are facing with the car currently, I know that the car will eventually need service visits to screw up some loose nails because of harsh surface of the roads and lets face it the not so comfy 19 inc wheels.
7. I red that the GT V8 has this color function called "My Color" i believe. does the Shelby 2009 has this function. to change the colors of the "Dashboard, Leg room, cup holders" ?
8. After viewing so many reviews, I noticed that they keep mentioning that the Clutch and Gear require some muscle power. is it hard to operate ?
Thats most of the questions I have in mind right now, I thank you for your time for reading my thread.

The back seats are pretty small, and not very comfortable if you're over 8 years old. However, what we've found is that we can put one person in the back seat, but they have to sit sideways, for example, behind the passenger, but with their feet behid the driver. Or, the passenger can just pull the seat forward.

The GT500 has a 5.4L cast iron block with a supercharger, making 500+ horsepower. The regular GT has a 4.6L aluminum block making 300 horsepower.

I thought so when I saw the back seats, and just said that maybe it is because the front seats are moved back so when your trying the car you can feel that it has a lot of space for the driver. I am not that worried about the back space, i just want to make sure about everything before buying such an expensive car

spending that much money and not taking it in for service or servicing it your self is a very bad idea the Shelby gt 500 deserves love and care
Well the problem is that the service center is not that easy to get into, as they take the car for almost 1 full day. and they aren't that close to my home as well.
In addition, ill be honest I am not that good with cars to actually serive it my self lol.
But its good to know more information. about the GT500.

Kind regards,
Forked Tongue.
The car does have four seats and those seats easily sit 4 people. I constantly have my friends in all of my cars and everyone from a 300 pound guy down to 120 pound girl never complain. I even make sure and ask them when they get out. So trust me it will do the job.
The Shaker 1000 is the same as the Shaker 500 plus two subs in the back. I was told you either get navigation and shaker 500 or just shaker 1000. You cant have navigation and shaker 1000 for some reason. I have the 1000 in my white Shelby and the 500 in the KR. I love the sound of the 1000 but also the functionality of the navigation. At the end of the day whatever is important to you go with that.
If you completely cant clear it you will scratch the front plastic lip. Its not hard to replace and its not too expensive so just keep in mind that you will need a front lip every few months. The middle and rear will not scrape. I know this because I have a steep driveway and just angling clears the driveway.
The engine question appears to have been answered so I will skip that.
You basically need to baby the car. You want to follow all the routine checkups to make sure that car is ok especially because its supercharged. Routine oil changes, brake jobs, things like that to make sure the car is ok.
The ride comfort is amazing. I dont know which GT500 you drove but mine feels extremely comfortable. The car will have 18's not 19's so ride comfort is not an issue. The KR on the other hand is uncomfortable because it is lowered.
The Shelby's apparently have a special MyColor which includes all the GT has plus a red white and blue gauge like the American flag. Its really cool. The Shelby does have all the cupholder, legroom, and dash color changing option.
The car does need some work to shift it, it is 500 horses after all, but it is in no way different from any other car similar to it. It is easy to drive and once you get a hang of it and amazingly fun car to drive.

Alright, seems logical. even though i think i can move the driver and passenger seats to the front a bit that will give more leg room as well.

Aha, ok good to know, I am not a big fan of Navigation. as I know the roads inside out around here. I was just wondering whats the difference. but good to know.

Ok, I saw that video but it is totaly diffrent than what i have over here. you see that ramp on the video is so tiny compaired to the one i am attaching on my pics. as you can see on the attached pics the Ramp is huge and you can see how close it gets to the front and middle and rear of my Crown Victoria.
While the Approximate heights are as follows:
Front: 17 cm
Middle: 15 cm
Rear: 24 cm
So Converted to inches it would be as follows:
Front: 6.7 in
Middle: 5.9 in
Rear: 9.4 in
So I am not sure, but I believe that i need to do some construction on that ramp to bring it down a bit to lower the angle of it.

Aha, so because it has a "SuperCharger" it requires more attention than a normal car. Oh well guess if it is my passion. then more care is more care. i guess ill have to take it to more service check ups.

Oh good to know. I thought those tires would kill my back. compared to my Crown Victoria that is. but thats nice to know that it is quite comfortable.

Oh wow, good to know, because even thought it is not that important but i like that function of colors and changing them to my liking. especially the leg room color and cup holders. the Dashbord is not a problem as long as the engin is making that sweet sound

I thought that i might face some harsh gears as it is a sport after all. but i guess it wouldn't be that harsh as it is a 2009. I tried several manual cars but one of my friends told me that the Shelby gear box is a bit harder. guess he was partially wrong.
Thanks "CrzyHorse" for your reply.
And I look forward to your next reply regarding the height of the ramp.
The Crown Vic does have a softer suspension so it gives a lot more when the car want to dip. The front of the Crown Vic is long also differen shapes. Once again you may or may not scrape but judging from it more then likely you will. Can you repave that driveway and make it longer and less steep?

Just to clarify, the MyColor feature with 125 possible selectable colors (plus the special red, white and blue combination) for the gauges in the dashboard was standard equipment on the 2009 GT500. Only the gauges change color. Other interior lights (for radio, HVAC, window switches, etcetera) are lit in green and do not change colors. The cup holder and under-dash lighting are not part of the MyColor feature. They are included in Ambient Lighting option 95M. This is an extra cost option that was available but was not standard on the 2009 GT500. You must check the 2009 GT500 you are considering purchasing to see if it has this option or not.
