Default Dealer Mark up???

Just wondering, did anyone pay MSRP for their car? I have talked to 3 dealers here in CA and everyone one of them has the 2010 GT500 marked up as much as an additional 10K. I was also told that you cannot order these cars from the factory, has any one ordered one??? Is there a number to Ford I can call to find out that question?

Thanks,
Craig

I'd like to know too. I haven't heard of any mark ups on the 2010.

You should never pay MSRP on a vehicle!, However, the mark up on some vehicles is supposed to "adjust" for market value, i have seen it a lot on some specialty Vettes and some GT500's and the like. A regular Mustang GT should not have a mark up on it, but i could see a mark up on a limited production such as the GT500. Just my .02

best way to go is buy a used 1.. just look the vehicle history and aslong as it is good ur good theyll break it in for u already and ull get a decent deal.. I mine for 37k with 13k miles.. and he put 10-15k more into it

Thanks for the reply's. Out here in CA, dealers are known for their markups. Major cities are worse than smaller town dealer. I have found some small town dealers that just want to sell for MSRP. I have had many discussions with dealers and their markups and they always talk about "Adjust for Market Value". That's code for your a sucker and we are going to gaugde the hell out of you. To be honest I wouldn't mind so much if when you paid the mark up it would be represented % in the resale/trade in price. We all know that will never happen. So to me it is a total waste of money and the dealer is the one laughing all the way to the bank.

When you drive off the dealers lot, you not only lose your markup but the car isn't even worth MSRP anymore. So It amazes me when people actully pay it. I have never paid it and never will. I might have a travel a little farther, but you will always find a dealer willing to sell for MRSP or even lower.

I should also mention, this is only for GT500 and KR's, not GT's

I bought mine for dealer invoice, two days after Ford closed his doors. Brand new full warranty, 5 miles, $40K plus change. Not a bad deal for 500 hp and one hell of a ride.

In this "green" economy a markup? Man CA is the land of fruits and nuts...local Chevy dealer has one new Camaro at a time.
