I have a 2012 Shelby GT500. Back in March I contacted Deysha here on this forum to ask for help with the 1-2 grind/lockout on my car. I told her of the circumstances that made this occur and that I needed guidance on where to take my car since no local dealer sold or worked on the Shelby. She in turn had a representative contact me from Ford Customer Service, I again laid out the details of what was happening and again stressed that the local dealer was not an option to go to since they do not sell or service the Shelby. Not 10 minutes later I get a call from the local dealers service manager who without seeing my car has already diagnosed the issue, told me it was a skip shift feature and it was normal characteristic feature of my car and to add insult to injury as he clearly had no clue to what he was talking about he further said there was no need to bring it in as he would not allow any of his technicians to duplicate a high speed or race style driving. I told him it's just 1st to 2nd gear the speed would be very low and in order for me to show him the term race style was opinionated it's not racing just a high rpm shift from 1-2 and it grinds and/or locks me out all together, he kept refusing so I just hung up on the guy. Since that time I have contacted several other dealers who want to help but for some reason this service manager who has never seen my car nor has any Ford technician touched or seen my car has put notes on my account with false and misleading information to Ford to where no other dealer wants to touch my car. How in the world is this possible? How can they refuse to even look at my car? What one dealer told me is Ford needs to give approval for any work now? I'm so lost what happened to a Warranty and on top of that I bought the Premium Care Warranty for an additional $2,600. Do I need to seek legal help on this as this does not seem right or fair.
you are going to go through the hassle and expense of a lawsuit when you can take or send the car to Dallas, not too far away?
Geez if you have the loot to buy the car in the first place you should expect to expend some energy for support esp since you choose to live in BFT...
Man this country is turning into the biggest bunch of crybabies and whiners I've ever seen...whatever happened to the "get r done" mentality that made us what we once were? Too many episodes of "Here comes Honey Boo Boo" would be my guess

There is a dealer in Ft.Worth who has worked on 4 in the past year with the same exact issues who is willing to look at mine and see if it is the same issue (it is, just have to go through the motions). I'm more then prepared to take it to Dallas, Austin, etc. but I'm being held back.
Call him back and politely ask for documentation regarding the skip/shift he refers to. Ford would have created a TSB (technical service Bulletin) SSM (Service Message) or FSA (Field service Action or Recall).
If he can't provide documentation as mentioned above, or an owners manual entry, or Ford Technical Hotline response, he has some explaining to do. Did you buy it local?
Good luck.

No I did not buy it local due to this particular dealer and others nearby not selling the Shelby, as of today I am still getting the run around all due to a service manager putting misleading notes on my VIN# and without even seeing my car. Contrary to 2Manymustangs uncalled for comments I have TRIED several and I mean several dealers close, far and even further away NONE of them will touch my car due to this information on my account. I am so puzzled how this happens when NO ONE from Ford has even looked at my car.
I would call the Rep back that Deysha got you in touch with, maybe they can remove the comments or make a comment in your file to counter what is in there.
I was dealing with a Rep for the Atlanta area that was more than happy to help in anyway she could.

well when anyone starts throwing around the word "lawsuit", that is code for "weakness"...real men talk their problems out, work through them...once again the problem with society today, everyone is just ready to sue, fight or leave their problems when a solution is usually a calm relaxed discussion with the right channels...try it, it works everytime
