Shelby GT500 Market is bogus. Cars aren't moving !
Did an EBAY seach for actual Completed GT500 sales.
Out of 50 Cars in the last 10-14 days only 15 managed to sell !
A ratio of 33% successful sales which means
nearly 70% are still sitting on dealer lots as
dead inventory while they pay the note on these
cars as winter creeps up on everyone not living in
FL, CA, AZ or TX
Here's the ebay search link eBay Search: Find Items
type in 2007 shelby gt500
& click the completed listing only
button to the right (under all categories)
Most were priced in the mid 50's bracket
(still a 25-30% markup for the Cheaper cars !
How long before these dealer scrooges wake up ?
IMO by the time these cars are priced fairly MAJOR interest will have waned especially in light
of a potential Boss edition & Modest styling revision
in 08 & perhaps significant styling change for 09 .
Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch
My 2 cents
PS - One buyer purchased 3 shelby coupes
AKA bet lotsa of bogus sales
& shill bidding going on to inflate the prices
I was browsing ebay as well, I noticed alot of Shelby GT500s for sale, few sold. I have also noticed alot of Shelby GT-H (Hertz) cars for sale. So far the one with the most amount of mileage was only in the mid 8K miles, not quite the 15K-17K everyone talked aobut. Currently there are 4+ GT-Hs for sale on ebay.
Whats with you guys up north about not being able to drive a Mustang in the winter???
I plan on driving my car in the winter, even got the ice x's on it already. But i dont think the car is going to be good at all in the snow. It spins in the rain under less than normal acceleration. trying to get that thing to go in the snow is going to be a task.

My car is used when I am off and the weather is nice. I do not drive it in the rain or snow I will drive it until they start salting by me than that is it till the spring. I have no problem using it when it is cold out, not bitter cold just cold.

I amazed at the car dealerships on e-bay running auctions on the Mustang Shelby GT where the winner will pay the winning auction price in addition to the MSRP for the car, and the Shelby GT hasn't been released to the public yet. I've seen one auction where it's almost $6,000 for the price the winner will have to pay over MSRP to get the car and I don't think that dealership will get the car until later in 07 as they won't order the car until they have a winner in the auction.
This is just way too much hype for me. I'll stick to my v6 and mod it out accordingly for I would much rather spend $40,000 in mods on my own v6 than ever pay stupid markup on any kind of car, no matter how in demand it may or may not be.

I had a 02 GT Vert... Put a set of Blizzaks on it. That car did great in the snow! I'm talking pretty hard mid-Michigan winters... driving through almost a foot of snow! LOL! Never once got stuck or felt that the car was slipping out of control.... Just ordered some Blizzaks for the Mistress.. LOL

If I could get a Shelby for $6000 over MSRP, I'd jump on it. They are running $20-$25000 over MSRP here.
I just did the "search inventory" for basically all the dealerships in the Detroit Metro area... not a single GT-500... my guess is the people that are buying these are not buying them off of e-bay... They just go in and plunk their money down... LOL! So... just because they aren't selling on e-bay doesn't mean they're not moving...

True, dealers usually put them on E-Bay to get more for them that they can sell them for on their lots.

I think he is talking about the GT500 tires. They are not recommended for temps below 40 degrees.

As a dealer, I cant touch one for less than 15k over sticker (wholesale). Someone is buying them, just not on ebay. I tend to think that people who drop 60-70 large on a car want to see it first.
just my .02

I think he's referring to the Shelby GT, not the GT500.
Nah, I bet he is referring to the Shelby GT500, for those are the ones selling for $15K-$25K over MSRP, the Shelby GT is only selling for $5K-$10K over MSRP.
Jenkinsbball is right, I am referring to the yet to be released Shelby GT (not the GT500). They are being "sold" on Ebay right now by dealerships for the MSRP plus the ending auction price. Like I said earlier, there's one dealership on Ebay that will not order the car until the close of auction and that the car would not be available for purchase until late in 2007. I believe this is the dealership that has it up for about $6000 over MSRP and I expect it to get higher.
