I got one of the last 2 GT500's at the Oak Ridge Dealer and drove it to Michigan.
Have yet to see another this past month on my long drive home & on the road around motor city and surrounding Michigan.
If you look on Ebay, contact the dealer directly to make your deal. The dealers with an inventory got them from the smaller remote dealers for list and charged over MSRP to make their profit.
Understand the 2009's will not be as limited as with the 07 & 08's and can be ordered now from many dealers for MSRP. You just have to hunt them down.
It’s sad all you Mustang guys trashing on the GT-500. The 2007~2008 Shelby GT500 Mustang is the best looking best performing Mustang Ford has ever built. I bought mine to drive PERIOD.
I couldn’t give a rodent’s derriere about CARROLL SHELBY or having his name on my car. I simply put up with it because it is the ONLY way to get a FACTORY (not modified) FORD supercharged 500 Horsepower hand built 5.4 liter race engine and a six-speed transmission in a bone stock car for under $50,000, PERIOD! I’ve had a lifetime of half-assed hotrods, there is absolutely no comparing an after market modified car with the factory 500 Horsepower hand built race engine you get in the GT500.
I’m about the go, not the show, I’m not into BLING. Having 500 factory Horsepower complete with a 5-year / 60,000 mile warranty is simply not going to happen with a modified 4.6. I bought my GT500 to DRIVE not as an investment, that is as stupid as investing in diamonds or lottery tickets.
There are absolutely no disappointments with this car. It really is sad you guys can’t appreciate just what an outstanding car the new GT500 is. If you got to drive a new GT500 you would change your tune pronto.

Can we all just appreciate each others right to their choice of Mustang. I am a long time Mustang fan. Started wth a 66 vert, 03, 04, 05 and now my 08 GT 500. Who cares what we paid! This thread was started when the dealers were adding rape charges and some of them were pretty steep. Now that they have been out for 2 model years, there are alot of dealers that have reduced or abandoned the rape charges. There are areas around the country that are still asking the rape charges but if you look around, you can find one at sticker. You may want to do that fast since Ford just announced that they are only building 3,000 units for 09 and alot of small dealers are not going to get one. Most of them are going to be going to larger dealers who will more than likely ask a good premium.
i would like to know actually how many GT500's in total will be built. I bet its a lot more than we think. and i bet they just make the GT500 seem rare so they can charge people more for them.
Down the road, i wouldn't mind getting a pristine GT500 form someone like Gary Paul who i know keeps his in 110% mint condition. but i would settle for 99% perfect too

Another one Red w/white stripe at Park City Ford in Dallas fro $45,999. It has Sirus, HID & Shaker 1000. Call David Wayne @214-902-5327. Both of the cars on Ebay only have about 20 hours left on the bids, but both say you can call the dealer direct and purchase the cars direct without bidding.

You will have to hurry because they are done with the 08 production. They are only going to build 3000 units for 09 anbd they haven't said when they are going to start producing the 09's yet. That means that the dealer rape charges are going to go up real soon. In SoCal, there is a dealer already marking their inventory up to $75K. I was going to buy one tomorrow, has everything but NAV, vapor with black stripes for $50K but I already have one ordered by another dealer and I can not get out of that commitment and they want MSRP so I have to wait. I would rather be in one now rather than when half the summer is gone by.

prices still seem high at 46k-50k
The $46-50K range is about what your going to see. The $41K price was the base model back in 07 and there have been price increases since that time. You will be one of the very rare lucky people to pick one up under MSRP.
