Even those are going for high 30's to low 40's. The only bad thing about that is the interest rates are usually higher on a used car than they are for new cars.

The GT500 is cool and I'm just happy Ford put something in a Mustang OTHER than the same old 4.6L/281 that Ford has been putting in the Mustang sense 1996. Thank God for the 5.4L/330CI SuperCharged V8.

I get a kick out of people who get all bent out of shape about other people paying ADM's but they don't have any qualms about say paying a cover charge at a club even though there are plenty of places you could go that do not have a cover charge. Or paying the cable or satellite company obscene dollars every month to receive television broadcasts that could otherwise be seen for free over the public air waves. Oh wait you want to try and point out that the pay programming is different than the free programming.

Yeah, that is right, just like the GT500 is different from the NO ADM Mustang GT…

I had an email yesterday from this web site asking why I had not logged on in about a year. That got me interested again, so I logged on and read this thread. I found a black Shelby GT500 convertible here in Indianapolis. I called and told them I would pay sticker ($51,235) if they would give me what I needed on my trade (07 GT convertible). Got to the dealer at 2:30 and drove it home at 4:30. I haven't driven a manual transmission in 40 years, so I am in the process of relearning.

I filled out about 6 credit app's. After the last one(my score went down to a 619) the dealer said the same as all the rest of them. I need 10k down. I'm upside 10k on my GT. So I won't be getting a Shelby anytime soon. The asking price is 70k in California. When I tell them the sticker is 46,500...They say ok I'll sell it to you for sticker...waste time with the credit thing. And same answer 10k down.

I'd like to have a Shelby Mustang. I don't give a hoot about collectability or the investment aspects. I just like the package. At the rate I've been racking up miles on my present car (300 a month or a little more) a new one would still be under warranty when the state takes away my driver license for excessive oldth.

There's a black 2008 convertible in a local dealer's showroom. It's been there quite a while. If someone made an MSRP deal recently, maybe I have a chance, with my pristine credit and a $50K pre-approved check in my hand.

I've looked at some local dealers' Web sites. The ones that show the "window sticker" include a part for the EPA mileage estimates that say about the engine: NOT STREET LEGAL. Huh? Do the stickers actually say that? I'll go look tomorrow.

The coupes are 5-6 thousand dollars less expensive. Why such a difference?

GT500s may seem expensive your side of the water but you should imagine what its like being a stang lover in the UK,

I just sold my Saleen Vert and I have found a GT500 that I am buying next week...they all seem to be around the £3900 to £4500 mark in the uk and the one I am getting has had some evolution mods and is around 650 BPH,

I have agreed to buy it for £3950 with the proviso the dealer fits the roush suspension upgrade, this he says will lower it 1.5 inches.

I will post some pics when I get it...hope I am doing the right thing with the Roush suspension? any ideas?

its a 2007 Black with white stripes black leather 6 speed, can have it with 20 inch 5/6 spoke or orig alloys, likely go for the aftermarket ones.
