I saw a guy in what I thought was a Shelby GT500. It had the the letters on the trunk and the side stripes that read GT500 on the door, but when I got around it, it had a GT face with the grill that is on the GT-H rental car. Before I saw the front, I was like, good for you dude because those cars are hard to come by, but then I saw the front and was like WTF? Is there a new Shelby or was this guy being a poser?
Ford has a Shelby GT which is a GT with the same grill as the rental and some other goodies and 325HP because it comes with a CAI. But the side stripes have Shelby GT on it not GT500.

I don't recall any snakes, but the stripes did say Shelby GT, not GT500. That clarifies that for me. I didn't really care, but I thought it would have been kinda lame to stamp Shelby on something that wasn't a Shelby. I'm no Mustang fanatic, but even I can see that that isn't right.

They sold the first 2007 Shelby-GT with VIN no.1 at the Barrett-Jackson Auto auction last January for 600k (plus the 10% commission). They (Ford) also threw in for the winner of the auction the opportunity to buy VIN no.2 at price. Which I would presume they meant invoice price.

Well, a real Cobra R has side exhaust, first of all... and those are '95 R replica wheels. Also, those are GT/V6 taillights... My guess is that this is a 1999 to 2004 GT or V6 with replaced rear bumper.

very true its a 1999 gt...its fuzzy but you can make out the anniversary badge on the side...the gt emblem on the rear...the rear exhaust was what first jumped out at me... i have a few more pics of the car but for some reason i cant seem to post pics too easily today
