Yeah I'll pass, maybe 5 years down the road when they've left the spotlight and some crazy cracked out kid who had rich parents who bought him one is trying to sell it :] then I'll take a crack at purchasing one.
You know, once I have my Firebird, Challenger, GTO, and Cuda. lol, just a pipe dream.
I'm not paying that sort of money for something which probably still has a live rear axle and the squidgiest set of shocks since, well, since the last Shelby Mustang came out.
For that sort of money, you are in Corvette territory. Or Porsche territory.
If Ford/Shelby want to charge that sort of money, the least they can do is come up with a proper chassis and better power delivery.
+1 on that! 'Bout as close as I'm ever gonna get to it......I understand the whole low production number/exclusive/collectible concept, but really...sell 1000 @ $75000 each or sell 10000 @ $30000. How about it if Ford threw a bone to the average Joe consumer? The Shelby GT is nice and all, but I'm not dropping my 'vert for something that has all the same toys.....now if it was 375+ hp, i'd consider it!!!
But I don't anticipate winning the Lottery in time soon. I guess the only possible good that may come out of this car is that the regular Shelby GT500 may drop a little in value (i.e. less dealer markup)

They already have one at mrbodykit.com. It's $789. Thinking of getting it.
i think that one looks different..but they are similar..i wonder what "mr. body kits" rep is for prep quality..or will ford release this hood to the hungry masses!

For the price I think this car may go for ($100,000, if not more and if anyone doesn't think it will get marked up that high, they are poorly diluting themselves), I rather get a 505 horsepower Z06 Corvette, better yet, if I had $100,000, I'd rather save my money and get the 650 horsepower Corvette SS (yeah I know it's a redundant name) that's supposed to be coming out for the 2009 model year. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Mustang fan, will be for life, but if I'm going to spend that kind of money for that kind of car, it better darn well perform like a $100,000 beast...therefore in this instance I will find myself behind the wheels of the Corvette SS rather than GT500 with body dressups and possibly a CAI.
