Not the GT 500. I believe it's basically a clone of the GT-H but it had a stick instead of automatic. It looked great. The sticker on the side of the car said $32,000 which I thought was pretty good. Then I walked around to the front of the car and saw $45,000 painted on the windshield. Guess I shouldn't have been surprised.

I saw one yesterday when I was in for an oil change at my dealer. Their was no "market adjustment", just an add-on sticker of $10,495 for the Shelby Package. Total for the car was right around 40k if I remember correctly. Didn't really like it all that much. I am not a fan of attaching bits of plastic all over a car that do not perform a function. This one has a cosmetic hood scoop and cosmetic attachments just forward of the rear wheels. It had some suspension work, a strut tower brace, a CAI, short throw shifter and some badging. Don't know if that is worth 10k plus.

Is that worth 10k? The answer is NO!
They look cool, but it's not the look I want on my car, and I won't pay big $ for a name. Give me half that price premium, and I'll beat it like a cheap rug. I have a lot of respect for Shelby and all the things he's done, but I think Ford is way out of range with the prices. Of course, that's the way I feel about the Saleens, too. At least, about the n/a ones.

Saw my first shelby mustang gt. Price was $31,500 plus $8,000 shelby option plus $10,000 aditional markup. Looked great but don't like being charged these type of prices. I remember when PT Cruisers were getting an extra $10,000 over sticker.
Wow $10K more for a shelby stang gt, wow. They look nice but still an extra 10K? I've seen one shelby gt500 here once. I heard it wascoming to the one dealership, some rich dude from Cali came all teh way to PA to pick her up. Went down the street in my moms minivan, surprised I didn't pop the tires whipping the rear end around that fast when i saw that gt500, white with blue stripes. That was last summer, since then I have not seen any special addition stangs around.
