Hey folks,

New to the forum...had a question to throw out.

So I'm about ready for some mods to my GT500. I'm am going to install a JLT Peformance CAI, and Steeda Supercharger pulley.

I was also thinking about an underdrive pulley, but I've heard conflicting points of view. A buddy of mine who builds Grand Am engines for Mustangs recommends it, but the folks at Steeda kind of asked me incredulously why I would want to do it (they claim it would slow down the compressor).

Anyone have any experience with this, or a point of view they'd like to share?

The underdrive pulley slows all accessories down so yes, it'd slow the supercharger down too, negating the blower pulley swap. An underdrive pulley by itself would add only about 5 hp so I'd recommend not doing the underdrive, you won't miss it. You'd come out further ahead by keeping the standard and then overdriving the supercharger.

Even with a 4.6 when you put a belt dirven blower you leave the stock dampner on.
