I think the darker color cars look much better since Ford decided to use V6 unpainted side moldings. You can't tell as much on the darker colors, especially Black and Alloy.
So Alloy or Black with any stripe color. The dark blue is probably third.
I saw the red with black stripe and the side stripe kind of offsets the molding, so best non-dark color is red with black stripe.
How many of you guys/gals like the fact that Ford kept the bottom of the Shelby unpainted?
The car is the thing, and i think all the color combo's are fine - it's really about personal preference. For my concept of what to do with a black base car there were no tape stripe packages available in the color I wanted so I had to have them painted on, and I think it came out well especially on a sunny day.
I read in your post that you have the 4.6, not the 5.4 that the GT500's are running. Did they register your Mustang as a GT500? You also wrote that your Mustang's 4.6 is hopped up as well. Can you give us more breakdown on what your car is running? I ask this only because I also have a Mustang GT running a Saleen 475 HP SuperCharger, 4:10 gears, 3" exhaust, GT500 Wheels and tire set, a 91 octane Brenspeed tune. My Mustang GT is Torch Red, and I had the original tape stripes taken off and had 10" White stripes painted on.
Did the Dealership modify your Mustang and make it a GT500, and displaying the Snake emblems? I live in Arizona and have seen one Mustang GT with the above modifications, but the has emblems and decals showing that it is a GT350, the car is a 2007.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated,
If not that then probably black with red stripes or vapor with black stripes.
