really anywhere. as long as everything bolts up and matches your engine (i/e most 5.0l's will bolt into most 5.0'l engine bays)

heck if you feel skilled there are some stand alone computers out there you can buy and build your system from the ground up.

the hardest part in my opinion is getting everything wired up, my first attempt at fuel injecting a vehicle was a complete failure (that was before i started going to school for automotive technlogy) my advice is get schematics for both cars your working on and look at em for a while, if you dont know what somthing is look it up, do some searches on fuel injecting a vehicle. find some options, fourms to post on, people who know what their talking about. worst comes to worst you have schmatics for your vehicle and you can put everything back to how it was and go back to carberation

good luck buddy

1) If you are just looking for an improvement in gas mileage don't expect to save a TON on gas, you will get 4-6 miles better at most but if you do the math you will most prbably be upside down for quite a while.
2) if you are looking for better performance FI is the way to go but chances are you will then drive more aggressively and kill your mileage.
3) If you have a Cobra II or just a nice Mustang II and change engines you will effectively lower the value of the car as apposed to leaving it original.

It's ultimately up to you though.

The King Cobra and perhaps the Cobra II may become popular in their stock configuration however, if it were me, I would build the snot out of it and go fox hunting

I think alot of the power loss was in the intake.......Im working on a gasket match on my factory intake and there is A TON of extra metal around the ports.....Im nervous that ill start cutting into it and hit a void theres so much.

Stock aint no fun........ you've got a low weight car.....underpowered.....and worried about lowering the value because you want to take advantage of a great car.... My rule of thumb....if it aint 10 grand or more.......your good to De-factories it.

You can use the factory EFI setup off a fox-body Mustang, Crown Vic, Thunderbird, etc. (pretty much any of the cars up to 1993 that used a 5.0)

The big differences are firing order (5.0 H.O. engines use the 351W firing order) and which way the upper plenum bolts on (throttle body is on the passenger side for H.O. applications, and driver's side for non-H.O. applications).

If you use an H.O. EFI setup on your original non-H.O. 302, you will have to run extension wires to lengthen the harness to correct the fuel injector sequence so that it will match your non-H.O. firing order. You will also have to find a cast-iron distributor gear to use with the TFI distributor (some F150s used TFI distributors with cast-iron drive gears) This will still leave some minor issues in the way the car runs, but fixes the one big one. The other option is to swap to a 351W/5.0HO firing order camshaft when doing the swap. For the cheapest method, getting the flat-tappet 351W firing order camshaft from Ford Racing that was used in the 1995 Cobra R and a fresh set of flat-tappet lifters would do the trick. (along with a cast-iron distributor gear) The downside here is having to do a camshaft break-in, and having to purchase a camshaft break-in additive (such as the one sold by Crane Cams) due to modern oils lacking the zinc and other additives that have been removed over the years in the name of reduced emissions. Another good option would be to get your choice of 5.0L HO performance grind (E303, B303, etc.) and a set of retrofit-type roller lifters. This would eliminate having to break-in the camshaft, as well as having to change out distributor gears, but you would need a camshaft retaining plate (Ford Racing has one) and it is the most expensive options (cam and lifters would set you back about $350-400 going this route, compared to about $200 for the flat-tappet setup.)
