i wanted to buy a lift kit for my car, its a 78 cobra.
it has stock lacy white rims 13 inches , i just want to lift the back tires the lift is 3 inches and if so can i get taller tires for a rim that has 185/80/13 or something like that.
should i do it ?

Why would you want to lift it and retain skinny little 13" tires? Throw a set of air shocks on and go to 15's or at least 14's with some meat, you will get the look you want and the car will still handle well. Either way it's not going to give you the dragster look? unless you add tubs and BIG meats.

You dont need to Jack up the car to get a nice tire in the wheel well. Im running a 26x11.5x15 M/T ET street and i have no issues you just need the proper offset rim for a stock mustang II 8 inch you need a rim with a 4 1/2 backspacing i converted to 5 bolt and used a 67 8 inch so my rims are 5 1/2 due to the wider housing
