Talking My Boss 302 II

Hey everyone well i did it again and changed my setup so i could be a little more streetable. i decided it was time for the cleveland to go on the stand. I love the 351 but i went a little radical with it and it just wasnt practical especially with todays gas prices. so i ended up getting a good deal of a friend of mine for a ported set of 2 bbl cleveland heads which where modified for 4V headers. I also got a track boss intake with it. so i picked up a roller block and put it together and now its ready and thought id share some pics enjoy. I have to take some new pictures and post them these are some of the progress pictures of the engine.

Thanks for fixing the link . She runs alright havnt had her on a long road test yet just around the neighborhood to try and tune it to see how it goes. I havnt taken to the track yet either but it should be somewhere in the 12's not bad for a stock 89 short. hopfully next winter i will build a proper short block using the new boss block and boss 302 pistons. then it should be in the low 11.s im really excited im just waiting for the insurance company to get back to me now.

Total Performance used to market a kit to put a Boss 302 into a "II". It had a front motor plate and headers. Where did you get your set up?

the plate in my car was originally a windsor plate for the fox that i had i made a dublicate then started cutting it to take the shape of my 351 cleveland plate that i had for the II so the fitting was close. The headers are headmans but im not sure what they were set up for they came in my cleveland Ghia parts car i picked up a couple years ago and the headers were mangled im guessing they were boss 302 swap headers mangled up for the 351. it took a while for me to bend them back into shape and clean them up im going to end up making a custom set of headers or fixing these up properly and getting them coated. its a 2 7/8 primary into a flat 3 inch collecter. and the rest of the setup is all custom

Contact Total Performance in Mt. Clemens, MI. They still might be a source for the proper headers.

Their number is 586-468-3673. At one time it was owned by a guy named John Vermeersch, who later became a tech line advisor at Ford Racing. Not sure if he is around anymore. I called them regarding a Boss 302 conversion for a Mustang II years ago, prior to the availability of so many good Windsor heads. I doubt they still offer it however, they may be a good source for information.

its a 69/70 boss 429 scoop works well still needs a little tweaking but it was the only scoop that would clear my intake carb combo plus it looks alot better then the old one i had on there
