Default 1976 Mustang Cobra II stock racing?

So, my boyfriend thinks it best for me to start racing (because ive never done it) with everything stock. I was just wondering if any of you guys could tell me how fast I could expect to go, besides "not very." Its a 5.0 302. Any ideas?

well the computer says....

Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 2700 pounds and HP of 140 is 15.62 seconds and MPH of 85.77 MPH.

you have to take in consideration weather , track conditions , driver skills

and how good the car is running .....

the above number are based on the car being factory stock....

My buddy's '78 King Cobra ran 15.90's at Dragway 42 in Ohio in box stock trim. Several magazine articles in the 70's had the 302 cars running as slow as the 17's.

Depending on what transmission, what tires, and what rearend....

I could see a stock 302 Mustang II running anywhere from 15-20 seconds in the 1/4-mile (uncorrected times).

Hello and welcome to the board, I think most of the times posted here are pretty close to what you will see. From what I have read so far I dont think you will have any trouble handleing it. Now I want to see some time slips posted with some pics of the car.

I also am into the WWII stuff(I dont think as much as you) My dad was in WWII and worked on tanks, landed in d-day, caught behind enemy line the whole thing. When I was a little kid he would tell me stories all the time.

Anyway welcome to the board I drag race and cook so we will have all kinds of stuff to talk about.
