Default Grill Snake for a 1978 cobra II

I have been trying to find the grill snake for a 1978 cobra. I have seen some on e-bay and on some web sites but they are the stick on type I don't think that was way the they were installed from the factory but I am not sure. can anyone tell me how they were installed and if it is the same style snake emblem that was used for the 1969 -1970 Mustang Shelby ? Because I can get one of those though The Paddock Performance and Restoration Parts -
Thanks D.T.

The Grille snakes for the cobra II was a stickon- but on a bracket that screwed/clamped onto the grille. Ya might wanna chk mustangII.net with the forums there, or the classified. The early cobra may or maynot work.

Keep checking ebay. Have seen them on there from time to time complete with mounting bracket .

Three things. They aren't cheep I think they range between 30-60 dollars and the way they go on is 2 clips that hook on the part of the vertical grill. Beware if you do buy one the clips are very delicate I nearly snapped my original one. Lastly the Regular II grill won't let the Emblem fit on properly I found out the hard way and had to cut the grill I had bought so it would work.

If your car is an original Cobra it should have the right grill. The Cobra Emblem has no bracket only 2 clips that fit onto 2 pieces of the grill so you can really stick it anywhere on the grill. My cobra emblem clips on. I think the Mustang Emblem for Normal II's has a bracket, because the grill I bought had 2 pieces of plastic with holes that I had to cut off to get my emblem to fit.
