Have any of you guys/gals used the dash cap over your regular dash and if so how does it fit and what do you thing about it?

I have had one on my car for over a year. Bought it through JC Whitney. Can't remember what brand but it is a perfect fit and paint match to my original. It fits right over original, mine was in pretty bad shape. It adheares with supplied silicone. The only way you can tell its not original is when you feel it. It is hard plastic instead of vinyl on foam. It has lasted well in the 145 plus interior heat of Las Vegas with no signs of fade or warpage. The best way to install is take original out of car which is easy, just a few screws, attach it and wrap it tightly til the silicone sets and then re-install in car. I also took that oportunity to paint the metal part of my dash to match the exterior paint scheme.

I have one also for about 8 months. It looks good and is super easy to put on. Its really hard to the touch. I miss the padded one thou.
