ok, its time for my paint job.
here are my options

jet black
orange/ black stripes
candy apple red/ black hood {(if theres a picture of a mustang II with this paint job, can you post it please)}
black/ white stipes
deep blue
dark metallic green


your input is preferred

Jet black is always a crowd favorite. Just a bit hard to keep clean.

Why not Black with orange stripes

I like the deep blue. Or another possibility that would look nice would be the deep blue with white stripes.

Quite a choice, I think since you are going to have to pay for it and live with it, it should be your decision. Asking others what they like will get you 100 different combos. Your best bet would be to look at other photos of II's and decide what you like and can afford. Candy apple red is very hard to do right and then you are basically stuck with a custom color that can't be touched up correctly if something should happen. Black can go both ways it can in some cases hide bad prep work and in others show every nick, scratch and wave. If you are keeping the car factory stock you will probably want to stay with a stock color. Most importantly, you did not mention what color your interior is. This makes a big difference in the exterior color. Black interior goes with just about everthing, other colors may clash, especially if you add graphics or stripes. My car was silver with red interior. The only color stripe that seemed to look good with it was red.

i always wanted jet black and thoes boss stripes that ran from the front fenders through the bottem of the doors and to the rear fenders (like the 69-70 bosses) but i want my to say COBRA

I like orange w/the black stripe, Im putting a flat black cowl hood on mine this year to of set some of the orange (see avatar) I have full black interior and black glass bumbers

my interior when I bought it in 76, was white and blue as was the outside, White with blue stripes. Its nice to see the different color combos that people have picked. Im partial to blue and silver

black and gold is always a good choice in my book. thats what mine is going to be. factory paint but all the extra goodies under the hood. resto mod. baby!!!

i know what im going to paint it, orange with the black hood, black front spoiler, black side mirrors, black spoiler, and dual side exhaust.

nice choice of color, when I go for my I choose Black with some light grey strips, always want a black mustang with light grey stripes on it....
