hello all, glad to be here.
i recently purchased a Mustang II Ghia 302 for $1500.
Things Previous owner did:
-added a 650cfm 4bbl Holley
-total body restore from Midnight blue rust bucket to white (bleh)
-replaced outer vinyl
-added 8" rear end
-replaced stereo
-replaced spare tank with a filler tube.
-all new brake lines
Things i need to restore:
-needs speakers
(why add a stereo w/o speakers?)
-need to fix/replace leaky filler tube (sigh)
-standard tune up
-few lights on the back need to be replaced. (left turn signal, both reverse, and 1 brake light)
-need new gas cap, current ones seal is dried out and doesn't secure right
-brake calipers on front
-needs a new pulley on one of the engine belts
-Get AC working again
-need to fix/replace the following gauges: fuel, temp, battery
-fix/replace dash clock
-get into the trunk (previous owner replaced the lock, and lost the keys!!!!)
-missing the "R" from "FORD" on trunk lid (lol, its a "FOD") Will either replace the R or remove the other three.
Extra things im gonna do:
-Dual exhaust
-better gripping tires on rear (waiting for a quote from a local tire shop)
-better/bigger carb intake (that big metal saucer thingy)
-return the car to its original midnight blue
i do have limited knowledge regarding cars and engines. But i am a quick learner, and know how to use common sense.
with all the work im doing to it, my aim to keep the car looking as stock as possible. when i do the dual exhaust, im going to try and find another tip the same as the one already on there.
Few questions:
-Which spark plugs would anybody recommend? Im looking at the Autolite double platinum
-what speakers (decent quality, not the "shake the whole neibhorhood with that lousy rap music") will fit w/o obstructing the windows?
-is there too much in this post?
