Default need help with my 1978 king cobra flywheel.

i went to checker and bought a new flywheel for my car and the new one ended up being bigger and now i cant get my old one back because i turned it in as a core.. how can i find out what size flywheel is suppose to be in that tranmission. can somone help me.? the new flywheel is way to big its a 157 tooth. my bellhousing wont even fit over the new flywheel. i believe the old flywheel was a 148 tooth. can i just take my tranny to a shop can they take measurments or somthin to find out what flywheel will fit in my tranny?

Welcome to the site. I have a old one in the basement somewhere. I will count it if I can find it.

Another Mustang II specific part, the 302 C4 auto in the II actually was the same C4 as all others except for the smaller bellhousing. The correct flywheel is 12" 141 tooth 28 oz ballanced.
I just picked up a new one on Ebay for $47.00 delivered to my door.

Opppssss... I did some looking through my records... It is a 141 tooth...
I ended up giving $80 just for the ring gear for the manual tranny.

Sorry for the wrong information.

Just out of curiosity, why did you need to change the flywheel?

I would think that Checker would be responsible for selling you a flywheel that didn't fit and would return your original.
