Any Suggestions? 1978 Mustang Cobra II oil leak problem

so i was driving down the 5 freeway, and all of a sudden i smelled something new, so when i finally got home i noticed that there was motor oil all over my right wheel well, and all over the right side of the cars body. any ideas?

lol, maybe you ran over a quart of oil ?

I would strongly suggest that you check your oil level before driving the car again.

Gaskets are a suspect on most '70's cars, especially if they are original. Check your right-side valvecover gasket and check the oilpan for damage.

There's not really any other ways to get oil out of the right side of a 5.0L engine.

Now I've seen an oil filter gasket get out of position during a filter change and cause a big oil leak, but that's on the driver side of your engine.

You might look at your transmission too...there's a lot of hydraulic fluid in a C4...
