Default looking for a 302 engine for a 1978 cobra

I am looking for a good used 302 engine for a 1978 cobra. The one in my cobra only had 55,000 miles on it but it was in storage for many years before I bought it and it spun the main bearing

Why take a chance buying used and ending up in the same condition. Take that money and rework/rebuild what you have or go crate.

If you want a rebuilt stock 1978 302 get a jasper engine. With that you at least get a nice warranty on it. Or get a nice built crate motor like raghead said you get a warrany with them too. If you go crate www.competitionproducts.com they have nice crates.

Rebuild your engine. You can get a stroker kit for about $800 dollars.
