I've had three Mustangs in my life including 66 & 67 coupes and a 77 Mach I. By far my 77 was my favorite but I keep hearing/reading comments in different places about Ford and collectors down grading or not even recognizing these cars are Mustangs. Is there any real truth to this or is it a bunch of hot air floating around about the Mustang II? Why such disrespect?
I have six dead bolt locks on my front door. when i leave the house i lock every other one, that way no matter how much someone picks them, they are always locking three.
i think ppl wan2 talk crap bc the are simply a mustang "2"
ive heard some ppl say its not the original mustang thats why they put the II after it, like its a copy...
its all talk though. for sure still a mustang!! no doubt about it.
anything after 1964 1/2 to 1965 isint original.... they are just jelous u got a classic!
if it wasent a mustang they wouldent call it the MUSTANG II!!

Mustang II owners are used to it, hell, some of us even relish it a bit.
I love my Mustang II. I've driven every generation of Mustang, and owned two Mustang IIs, and owned/co-owned a total of four fox-bodies. I also came damned close to owning a 2003 Mach 1 and a 2005 GT on different occaisions, but both times decided not to trade in my daily driver on the cars in question.
Out of all the Mustangs I've owned/driven, Mustang IIs are by far my favorite. A combination of the ridiculously lightweight, short-wheelbase ride with an overdose of power (Yeah, 139hp from a stock 302 doesn't seem like much, till you put it directly over the front wheels of a short, lightweight car with no weight in the rear and leaf springs... and it still has about 250 ft/lbs of torque.) makes for an entertaining trip no matter where you're going, and it's the ONE Mustang on the road that elicits an opinion from E-V-E-R-Y-B-O-D-Y! Every single person you come across either really loves it, really hates it, loves to hate it, or hates that they love it... and not a single one of them will be bashful about telling you so either.

I fully agree it's a Mustang and I love these cars. I just had a hard time believing Ford and collectors would downgrade such a great car with the Mustang name. Regardless of negative opinions I love the car and looking for another one now. I'm just amazed at the ignorance of some.
I've had two mustang IIs the one I still have which was my first car,got it when I was 15, and one I got rid of. I love my mustang IIs even if they didn't come from the factory with alot of power. If it wasn't for these cars you wouldn't have had the fox body or maybe any other mustang after 73 when Ford wanted to end the mustang. They saved the mustang for everyone.
Please go to www.mustangii.net Chevrolet Monza Vs. Ford Mustang II "click" on "IMSA Kemp Cobra II". Thats What I am Talking About !!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE TO Have It, besides a 1966 Shelby white w/blue stripes !! racerfrank
I have owned Mustang II's since 92 and hve never gotten any respect for them until I completely made them over. I said in my introduction that I believe the original design concept leaves a lot to be desired and that is probably the biggest reason for the abuse over the years. It really is a shame that they are not recognized. I find it amusing to look at some of the parts catlogs for Mustangs and find parts for 64-73 and then skipp to 79-09. The II's are still Mustangs (******* brothers perhaps). I know I am not one to talk since I modified mine but I love to be able to tell people they are still Mustang IIs.
