The "notchback" is just the coupe version of the Mustang II as opposed to the hatchback.

As far as finding a flywheel, the automatic is still available through Napa, the manual trans flywheel is hard to find.

oohhhh alrighty... yeah i wasnt to sure about that i though it might be the coupe... but its a 3 speed automatic so that will work. but i want to make it a 5 speed manual eventually... but how much do u think that would run me? a fly wheel for the auto.

thanks,

It depends on where you go but it should be anywhere from $70-$100. And a automatic takes a flexplate not a flywheel. I would just search the web if I were you because it is hard to find flexplates or anything else for mustang II cars. Good luck.

Well 74stang2togo said that napa has them so go look there first and if they don't have it just do a search on the internet I'm sure someone will have these flexplates you just gotta search around for them.

Art Carr performance in Texas has flexplates for the II auto in 50 oz balance if you need one for an 80 and up 302(5.0).
68 to 79 302(5.0)have a balance of 28 oz. and the flexplates are still available from major parts suppliers.
The diameter of the II 302 flexplates are smaller than most other 302 flexplates, and I believe the tooth count is 144

You'll probably have to order one. Its a smaller diameter and tooth count than earlier and later Mustangs due to the smaller bell housing needed to fit the MII.

Napa Online claims that they carry a replacement for $70:
