For some reason my wife does not realize that when the gas gauge goes to E that means the time has passed to put in gas. She ran it out of gas again and the manual pump (2 months old) blew again. Well instead of putting another manual pump in for her to blow, I bought an inline electric. What is nice on a II for those who haven't been under the back side of the car, is you can put the pump RIGHT at the tank. The pump is rated for 4 to 7 PSI a little higher then stock but leaves room for upgrades and such. The hardest part of the whole job was finding something to wire it into that came on with the Key. The 1974 had points system ignition and such. So finding something with a key on type was next to impossible and I really didn't feel like tearing apart the steering column to run it to the ignition switch, so I ran a switch. While I was at it I removed the HEAVY ac unit from the car (THAT thing ways a ton). It didn't hold a charge anyway. With that removed it makes adjusting the carb easier. But to make a long story short after I adjusted the carb it ran IMO alot better. Any ideas on how to get the wife to put GAS in the car

. HEHE just thought I would share it.
