I saw that car this morning while on ebay. I find it hard to believe Carroll signed that nasty car. Maybe someone took the trim to a signing & got it done. That aside I always had a soft spot for this year Cobra. It looks like a great car to restore but the autograph means little...LOL

I think that it must be fake because FORD and Shelby dissolved their relationship in 1970.

Although I agree that Shelby had nothing to do with the IIs and he was long gone by the time the IIs were introduced, I have to say that the car is a King and it might fetch a few bucks. Also the running horse is correct for the door panels on Kings.

I was able to make out KC on the buck tag, but that signature looks fake.

Default My two cents

I also saw this ebay item.. thought to myself WOW my 77 Mach I has Shelby's autograph also.... even has the door sills? (carpet meets under the door) with shelby badge! Difference is do i actually think mine was signed by Shelby? HELL NO! it's a placard u can buy at any Shelby, SAAC, or such event! Although i do definately agree on the 80mph speedo (mine says 120).

Hey Mark
The king in the ad could of had the gauge cluster changed to a non corroded one, most clusters were made from inferior plastic which seems to deteriorate with time. I have had to change a few on some of my IIs.
The air dam if original sells for about 1600 used, and the air ducts are some of the hardest II parts to find. If that king has the air ducts still on the car then its a real King. Someone should email the seller and ask him a few questions. Kings are becoming the most coveted IIs to own, and with the popularity of the IIs on the rise, its only a matter of time before they start fetching outrageous prices.

Thats the buck tag, they are at the top of rad support on Dearborn cars and at the bottom of rad support on San Hose cars.
