Default need help with a vin number. 1977 Mustang II cobra?

got a new mustang ii that i am going to get it is a 77 302 auto with factory air. the paint is original as it is worn and cracked from age. but the car has no grill enblem at all, no decals on the rear spoiler or at the bottoms of either door. it does have a front and rear spoiler, side and rear loovers and the speedo only goes to 80 though so it has me wondering. it has a decal package like a cobra would, it has a single stripe that is as wide as a set of two stripes would be that goes from the fron of the car to the back and decals at the bottom of the doors but no cobra logo the car is white and the decals are bluish purple...

i got the vin 7F03F207279 any help tellin me if its a real cobra or a plain mustang 2 with spoilers would be greatly appriecated

you need to find the buck tag on the core support, thats where the info you seek will be.

I was wondering just what info was on the buck tag so went looking and found this: Mustang II Network - Build Tag (Bucktag) Codes

Check the grill they are diffrent depending on the emblem that goes on them. A Cobra or King Cobra would have a grill without 2 tabs for 2 screws that would be used for the regular mustang emblem. You could always pay the money for a Marti Report.

The grills might have been changed but for the money, I'd go with the Marti Report. That gives you the paperwork to back up what you think you have. Didn't know they now went up to '79'. I got one for my '69' Cobra and found it very interesting.

whats a marti report and what do i do to get one done on the car i know that it is not a king cobra cause it is a 77 but at the time i first examined and before i knew the year of the car i notice that the hood scoop was turned around like a factory king would have been so i went straight for the buck tag and it was gone. sounds like this marti report is what i need to do
