I am planning on switching out my 3spd auto for either a 5spd manual or an auto w/overdrive. I was wondering, which will be better, the AOD with a better ratio or the 5spd that is a manual? I was also wondering if, being it has an automatic (not sure if it is electric or mechanical) in it, would i need wiring for an AOD?

In a nutshell.
AOD does not use any electronics only a cable (TV) to the throttle linkage. AODE uses inputs from the computer.
