Default Top Ten Reasons to Buy a II...

10. They II are Mustangs
9. They offer a luxurious ride
8. They are totally different from anything else on the road
7. They're getting scarce
6. They're appreciating in value
5. They're dirt cheap (mine was $200, you can get a perfect, top of the line model (cobra, king cobra) for $5-8k)
4. They are extremely easy to modify for your taste
3. They kept the Mustang name alive
2. You can have economy (2.3), power (302) , or a little of both (2.8)
1. Two words, Engine swaps... That's the cool part of a II, It came before emissions standards were as strict as they are today, and therefore have less plumbing to worry about when doing a swap, I've seen 2.3 turbos, 351Windsors, Big Blocks, and 4.0 Ranger engines in them... I'm working on an engine swap myself (still in the theoretical stage) a Vulcan or Duratec 3.0 from a Taurus!!!

Also have a 2003 Dodge Ram (lightly modded daily driver/tow rig/office/dining room/home away from home/workshop... I call it "The Big Blue Dawg".)

Put some pics of that II up in the Members Gallery.

I also like the IIs, mostly the hardtops. I'm getting one sometime and recreate the one i had back in 1980, with a nice 5.0 in it

Still have to find one with a decent body, but there are a few around Mexico City.

I wish I had kept my King Cobra. I would beat on that car all day long, and it never let me down. Lot's of good memories in that car. I sold it years ago to a friend only to be informed that it was stolen and stripped of its parts.

I hate criminals!

WOW!!

I actually saw a Mach I Mustang II today

It was at one of those shady hotels. It looked complete. Needed some work, but it was'nt bad looking. I'll try to get some info on it and a pic.

I have a 78 Musatng II and I plan on turning it into a pro street.
I'm getting alot of fiberglass body parts for it.
The main reason I like the 78 I dont have to inspec it and worry about it not pass emissions.
