Default restoration

hello all i purchased a 1978 mustang knig cobra blkack with orange stripping about 4 yrs ago it has sat in my yard covered till last weekend. now its in the garage and being stripped down. the catch is that i have no mechanical experience or training and am goignt o attempt the rebuild myself. i have the entire interior stripped and engine almost to the head and block to be polished and bored. however the undercarage is rusted badly, years in the yard i guess. any ideas on how to fix all rust before painting ive ordered new floor pans but what about underneath outside?

best idea would be to enroll in a mechanics program where you can learn about restoring a vehicle.
The floor pans.....you have to cut out the old ones and weld in the new ones. Rust is like a virus, once you get it, it's a b!tch to get rid of it.
