TwoStang, a fair price on that car, from what you've described, would start at about $1,000-1,500 if it's just a decent/drivable 4-cylinder and top out at $3,000-3,500 or so if it's an absolute cream puff with a V6.
Edsel, $300 for a '74, if it runs and just needs some body work, isn't bad at all, I paid $200 for mine barely running (needed a cam and a carburetor, both were in bad shape) and needing a front fender. The '74s have their good and bad points, as they look a little better with the deeper front valance and grille, but weren't designed for the V8, making it more work to get one in there (you'll have to cut/modifiy the radiator support, and reinforce the chassis, more info on that is in the Mustang II Tech forum in various different threads, you may have to go back a few pages from the front page to find the info, I wrote quite a bit of it when I was doing all the research to put a 289 in my own '74 (probably do it this winter, has a fairly heavily modded 2.3 in it now).
