Default Traction Bars for a 76 mustang 11!

I have a 76 mustang 11 with a new motor with a performer rpm aluimin intake an a holly 750 double pumper carb with lots of other things done. I think it has 3.08 ring an pinon gears in it an it will not stop breaking traction an im wondering if traction bars will fix the problem or not im fixin to put 3.73 in it?????????

traction bars will help some, as would putting on wider wheels/tires, but the rear of these cars is very light, and short of going to a four-link suspension, it'll be difficult to keep the wheels from hopping with serious power, and it'll only get worse when you go to the 3.73s.

I have a 77 II with a 351C and 411 gears in my 9in rearend. Had the same problem. Had to go with a caltraxs bar and a monleaf spring. Hope that this helps.

Nigel, I like the looks of that CalTrac bar setup. Their site does not list one for the Mustang II. Which one did you use?

I was going to go to a coilover suspension and still might down the road. However, I did not expect my rear tires to clear the leaf springs but they do so I may stick with this suspension for awhile.

I also found this website that shows how to make a home made version for anyone interested.

I just sold them to a friend of mine. I just called them and gave them the measurements and they sent them to me. But I found out that if you put a 4 degree shim under your leafspring tilting the rear end down. That it helped greatly with the traction problem without spending $820 on the caltracs setup.
