Default Electrical for 74 302 swap.

Hello everybody, sorry i didnt post in the introduction place. I am building a 302 for my 74 Mustang II which is a 2.8 4 speed hatch. The engine I am putting into the car is from a 1983 Mercury Grand Marquis (originally FI). I'll give you a quick list of specs on the engine:
-Cleaned and bored .030 over (at a machine shop)
-Hypereutectic forged pistons
-Comp cams xtreme energy cam and lifters
-Comp cams Valvesprings and retainers
-Complete head rebuild
-Edelbrock Streetmaster High-rise 4bbl intake manifold
-soon to come is a Holley 4160
-Also getting headers

Anyway, the problem I have is that the engine uses a Crankshaft Positioning Sensor as a part of the ignition and I need to know if there is a way I can eliminate the use of that or how I can make it work with my car. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, just put a distributor from a 74 or older 302 in it (and upgrade to a bronze or steel distributor gear if your cam is a roller cam, just you the stock gear if you're not) That way you'll be able to just hook up your coil wire from your current coil and be running. If taking the Crank Position Sensor off will cause it to leak oil (not sure where it is, only one or two years of 302 used one until the 5.0 Explorers that were distributorless) leave it in and unplugged it won't hurt anything, and if it won't leak oil, then ditch it.
