Default New owner of a mustang ll

Hello all, I'm the new owner of a 78 mustang ll ghia and have to say that I love the car. It is in very good condition with some very minor rust on it, I picked it up for 2000 bills and the car has 113,000 miles on it. I've had a few people poke fun at me, telling me that it doesn't look like a mustang to which I reply "That's exactly why I got it, how many have you seen lately?" They really are a unique looking car I think. Anyway on to my first questions (with a whole lot more to come later lol). I currently have a V6 in the car and was thinking about trying to fit a V8 in there, but I have to confess I'm an amateur mechanic at best. I was wondering would it be easier to fit a V8 into the car, or would it be better to stick with a V6 and make some mods to it, possibly stroke it even. Any ideas or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Modding the V6 or swapping to the V8 would be completely up to you. The parts to modify the V6 are out there if you dig deep enough, but Ford V8 parts are of course a dime-a-dozen. The downside to a V8 swap is that the Mustang II-specific V8 parts: (The motor mounts, exhaust manifolds, flywheels/flexplates, bellhousings) are harder to find, but since your car is a V6 car you're slightly ahead of the game since it's got the right driveshaft and rear-end to work with a V8 already.
