Default Headers on a 1976 Mustang !!???

Ok i have a 76 mustang with a 302 an im wantin to put headers on it but it looks like im gone have to cut a lot away.. Has nebody ever done this b4???? An how hard is it to do???????

Check out the 1/2 in long pair on mustangsunlimited, there shouldn't be any cutting needed. I plan on putting them on my 76 Cobra II with 53 in long side pipes. They should fit, it just might be a hassel getting the headers in there; I guess because of one motor mount. Good luck!!

1 1/2" primaries would be fine for a 302, I've run both 1 1/2 and 1 5/8" on a 302 before without any noticeable difference.

Headman and Hooker both still make headers for the Mustang II with a 302, but most Mustang II owners say the Dynomax headers that aren't made anymore are the best. They show up on Ebay or in classifieds from time to time though.

1976 Ford Mustang II Ghia: 302 with a 600cfm Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock Performer 289 intake, Dynomax Blackjack headers, 2.5" exhaust with Flowmaster Super 44s. RJS 11-gallon fuel cell, C4 tranny, chrome 16" pony wheels, fuzzy dice, brown vinyl half-top, and painted in the tackiest color ever (harvest gold, that's why I call it "The Goldenrod").

Also have a 2003 Dodge Ram (lightly modded daily driver/tow rig/office/dining room/home away from home/workshop... I call it "The Big Blue Dawg".)

I have Hedmans on mine simply because they are by far the cheapest. They work fine but they have a goofy design where the front tube on the right bank goes underneat the crossmember. It is the first thing to hit the pavement or edge of the trailer or hoist. The others look very nice but quite a chunk of change. Saw a used pair go for over two hundred bucks on eBay.

Ok thats great but now a guy i go to skool with has just about talked me into ;putin twin turbos on it an tha kit that i found has the everything that i would need to out them on there... would that b a good thing to do????/ he said with 2 T3 turbos an a intercooler he could get it up to about 550 or 600 HP At tha back tires.....
