I have a 1976 2+2 with a 2.3ci that is in need of an engine rebuild and various other mechanical servicing. Does anyone know of a competent mechanic/service shop in the Rhode Island area, or local Southeaster Massachusetts / Eastern Connecticut areas ?

That seems like a pretty expensive adventure. Buy a Haynes manual and try doing as much as you can yourself. It took me a while to fix my '76 Stang, but the satisfaction of having it done by myself alone is pretty rewarding.

I just had the 2.3 in my II rebuilt this past spring. It cost me about $3000.00.
