Default Inexpensive upgrade for Mustang II tail lights

These all red tail lights are going for $200 plus on E Bay for $10.00 I bought a can of lens dye and did it myself. Real quality spray, easy to do final product looks great and when lit matches the other lights perfectly.
Note texture is only as good as your lens, so if lens is good to perfect results are good to perfect.

Default Thought... on tail lights

That looks great with your color sceme!
I was wondering if you (or anybody) had used the Smoke -Out spray in a can that makes the tail lights appear black. I am planning on painting my car black or hunter green and thought that might be a good look, I'm just worried about the crome outline looking funky. As I've heard you just add super bright lights and spray on the coats untill you like it.

Let me know what you all think.

Black tail lights look awsome on show cars, but are illegal on the streets in all 50 states. Also you will no longer have reflective lens' making it harder to see at night when parked anywhere but you driveway. A removable lens cover would be the ticket for shows but no one makes them.
Wow this was an old post, never went back and showed the updated photos.

I'm glad I didn't do anything with out looking up the local laws, thanks. I know I see them around town all the time... I guess it's just overlooked? or not seen by the PD.

I might be in the market for a second set of tail lights. By the way, your updated pics look SWEET! Where did you get that chrome?

Its the self adhesive peal and stick chrome wheelwell molding that comes in rolls from Pep Boys, Auto Zone etc. Just measure cut and stick on. Pretty cheap $15.99 for 20 feet can be used for interior accents as well. I have used it on a number of my cars to accent areas, works great.

Hey those lenses look really good. Like what the chrome strips do for them. And thanks for the info.

P.S. Hope you don't mind - added your car to my wallpaper.

Here is a link, it is sold on E Bay, they call it a paint because it does not actually absorb into the plastic lens but goes over it as paint does. It is a perfect color match and the light shines right through it as it should. Been on almost a year now with no scratches or chipping, I am happy.

No they're not. Its just like buying those GTO light covers. Theres alot of people on CVN that uses the black out spray. Also theres a tire shine called bleach white or something that will strip color off plastic. Only if soaked for a day or so, any longer it will comprimes the integretiy of it.
