Exclamation Need Mustang Cobra II Engine Bay Photo. Please Help!

Hello everyone!

I bought a Mustang Cobra II when i got back from Iraq the first time a couple of years ago. The body work, paint, exhaust, etc. is done. I swapped the 2bbl and manifold for a Holley 650. My problem is hooking it back up. I am having issues with all of the vacuum lines, where they go, and the hose from the brake booster. I am more of a backyard mechanic. I was already taken advantage of by a mechanic trying to "help" so i am turning to this forum for help. All i really need is some decent pictures of the motor bay from all angles so i can trace the lines that way. The manuals are little help, It is a stock motor, so there isn't anything out of the ordinary. Thanks for the help, any emails would be appreciated!

There are several decent Mustang II engine bay photos in our 1974 Mustang to 1978 Mustang Pictures Gallery. You can also try a complete search of the Mustang Gallery for terms like "Mustang II", "Cobra II", Mustang 2, Cobra 2, etc. You should turn up plenty more Mustang II photos. You will find the Search link to the advanced gallery search is under the search drop down menu under "Photo Search" in our site's main navigation menu.

I did a search on "Mustang II" and turned up alot more photos from our members gallery such as this one titled:

Cobra / Mustang II

There are plenty more where that one came from. Hope this is of some help to you.

Hello luckcobraII
A drawing of the engine would be appropriate to you?
However yes give me the characteristics exact of your engine (rolled, standard year…)
I would see whether I have the sights that it is necessary for you on my documentations.

Hi Vince -

Do you have anything for a 1977 302 2V AT, non-AC, 49 State application? I'm dealing with the same issues and am near a solution but feel I need some hard facts.

Thanks in advance!

Default Vacuum Lines

Hi There -

Thank you for following up.

I am looking for the engine vacuum line schematic. do you have this? I can't find one specific to my engine.

I'd be very appreciative if you had something that was helpful. I have only found one which isn't specific enough.

Attached are ones I have, but they are not exact for my application and, frankly, a little generic. While they help a little, they do not solve my problems.

Thanks in advance!

Elwood

Default Thanks for the help!

I appreciate all of the comments. I do not have all of the wording down on engines, so i have to look at actual pictures to help make things happen. Love working on the body and interior. But the engine is another story. You have to love the 70's and all of the random hoses they seem to have put in the cars! Thanks again!

Start with making a diagram of what you got. How many ports are on that engine manifold tree in the back? How many ports are on the carb? Are there other fittings on the manifold? How many hoses do you have?

oh yeah, THIS may help you:

eBay Motors: 1978 Ford Car Wiring and Vacuum Diagrams Shop Manual (item 190069687431 end time Nov-02-07 17:42:27 PDT)

I have the 1977 coming in the mail....
