Default -NEED ADViSE & INf0- 1976 Cobra II Mustang

So im New here, and honestly im comming to you guys for advise and input. I tried looking up specs and other things about the car, but still dont know much about it. I have always loved old school Mustangs. always wanted a fastback but never had the money for it.

so now ive come across a 1967 Cobra II Mustang.
rust free car, has a 302 V8 with auto trans w/68k all original.
I want to know how they handle, whats the Hp & 0-60, money worth investing and what im looking at to invest in to make the car better wise? i dont mind keeping it stock either, jus wanna see options and weighing it out.
I honestly dont know much about these cars, i have a friend and she is in love with mustangs, so i showed it to her and she was like its a hot car with some money invested it will be sexy~!!!
Its an AUTO, and im not to found of that....i was thinking about a manual swap...but thats jus money i dont wanna invest...but i did want to know also what is the (+) and (-) of auto when compared to manual... my friend diana tells me its too bad you wont be able to do burnouts

I jus think it would be a nice car to have for a muscle car. looks nice to me, what things shoudl i ask and look for when cheecking out the car and asking about it?

Thanks ahead of time, I know I asked alot.

A car is a car is a car. If you like it buy it. I have owned 34 cars in my 35 years of driving. I have had just about every muscle car (except a Corvette). I have owned vans, trucks, ricers, jeeps Chevys, Fords and Mopars. My last car was the 1st 2005 Mustang sold in Las Vegas, Mineral gray, georgeous. I do car custom designs and car shows with all my vehicles. When the new Stangs first came out I was blowing away the competition with designs and winning shows. Comments abounded, but alas within a year and a half everyone had one and the novelty wore off fast. I traded it in on a 2006 Dodge Dakota quad cab as a daily driver and looked around for something different to customize and show.
Now back to your question. The Mustang II was never the most popular Mustang and could hardly be called a muscle car in stock form. Actually, HP numbers are pathetic by todays standards, but if you find a II with the V8 option you can with minimal $$$ make them run very well. The car is light and with the right suspension and tires handles like it is on a rail. Amazingly enough, I have taken 3 trophies at 3 shows and the interior isn't even finished. I get more comments on this car than any of my others in the past 10 years and actually enjoy driving it (even without air) in Las Vegas. So if that is what you are looking for and you have the time and some $$$ to fix one up go for it. No one elses opinion counts. 4 speeds are more fun than autos but autos have been known to be faster at the track if set up right, as far as burn outs, if that is what you want to do, mine will smoke the tires as long as I keep it floored and get a nice 2nd gear chirp as well, its all in the engine and gearing. Good luck with your choice and have fun. Thats what it is all about anyway.
