I'm going to be very boring and you're not going to like what I have to say.
The cheapest way to get some serious power is to buy a new engine.
If the rules prohibit a new engine... prepare to spend some money.
This is a universal "truth" for most older small displacement engines. I don't really know the 2.3L
stang engine.
As for the carb... and no... I don't know very much about carbs. The challenge is getting more air into the engine, fuel is the easy part.
The more air, the more power.
