Default Were any of the 1976 cobra IIz 6 speed stock?

Im wondering because theres one for sale in mint condition by an old lady and she says its a 6 speed. Im gonna go look at it later but she says it came as a 6 speed. I didnt know any of the older cars came in 6 speed?

Uh, no. 6 speeds as far as I know didn't come out till much later than 1976.

yeah well i didnt make it out there today but im pretty sure maybe one of her children or somebody did some work on it cuz she swears on her life its a 6 speed so idk. ill know 2morrow if it doesnt sell before i get there.

Not only did no Mustang II ever come with a 6 speed from the factory, but you would need to enlarge areas of the transmission tunnel to make one fit. They didnt come with 5 speeds, either.
The only manual transmission available in the Mustang IIs was the 4 speed.

Yeah, the II could only be had with the C3 automatic, C4 automatic, or the RAD 4-speed from the factory. If it has a six-speed someone put it there.

It probably wouldn't be the first II with a six speed... but it'd be interesting for sure. She probably means six-cylinder and just doesn't know what's what.

1976 Ford Mustang II Ghia: 302 with a 600cfm Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock Performer 289 intake, Dynomax Blackjack headers, 2.5" exhaust with Flowmaster Super 44s. RJS 11-gallon fuel cell, C4 tranny, chrome 16" pony wheels, fuzzy dice, brown vinyl half-top, and painted in the tackiest color ever (harvest gold, that's why I call it "The Goldenrod").

Also have a 2003 Dodge Ram (lightly modded daily driver/tow rig/office/dining room/home away from home/workshop... I call it "The Big Blue Dawg".)
