It should be stamped on the block. For comparision a 351 is wider than a 302.

I can't recall the dimensions of either, but the 351W is about 2" wider and an inch or two taller. Measure the overall intake manifold width and post the result and I will go check my 351W to see how wide it is.

there is also a couple of of things to help identify a 351w,i learned this when checking the differences a few years ago.i cant remember what they are but i found them by doing a google search on the differences on 351w and 302,and searching for a spotters guide.good luck

The easiest way is to look to the rear of the intake manifold (in carburated cars) if there are angled supportive castings on the very back, it is a windsor. If there arent, it most likely is a 302
Here is a windsor intake look at the bracing on the back of the manifold compared to the next image of a 302 intake, this bracing is the same on the stock manifolds.

here's a 302 intake

The easiest way to tell a 302 from a 351W is to look at the water pump mount on the drivers side of the front of the engine. If the deck surface is right above the water pump then it is a 302. If the head deck is around 3/4" above the water pump then the engine is a 351W.

Hope this helps.
