Default Track time sucks

Just got back from the track and my time sucked again. 11.20 @ 120mph with a 1.5 60 foot. I’m going to run 2 batteries next time out, when my nitrous kicks in (that is right off the line) my ignition starts to break up. I think my MSD is not getting enough power and won’t let me RPM over 5500. With out the nitrous I shift at 7500. Does anyone have any ideas other than mine?

Thanks I can appreciate that, but for a full out race car the times are not very good. This car has way more potential than the times its showing. After think about the runs and talking to a few friends I now think I have a detonation problem. I’m going to try a little more fuel and jack with the timing a little more.

You have changed to the correct plugs for the nitrous right?

First let me say thanks for the feed back, I really like the conversation on the board. As far as the plugs go, yes I went to a cooler plug and I have the correct gap for nitrous with a 7AL-2 box.

I have not raced at Quaker yet, these times were from dragway 42s Tuesday nights TNT. I have been to Quaker but never ran there, I have raced at 42, Norwalk and Magnolia.

Good question about racing, I really have not raced anything bracket or otherwise. At the moment I am just trying to set up the car. For the most part I will be bracket racing but I would like to do it in the low 10s.

I understand and it can be hard to get in the low 10s and it sounds like you have got a hoss of a ride.just remember it is consitancy that wins and how good your car is put together and you know you cant run 10.50 one time and 10.00 another it needs to be (dead on) or 1 or 2 above.with a good reaction time. good luck and keep us posted!
