Default 1977 mustang ii heater core replacement

so i needed to replace the heater core for my cobra ii ever since i bought it two months ago. so i finally got around to doing it yesterday. i got up under the dash and pulled the blower motor and then a bunch of screws around the housing for the heater core. but it still wont come apart. so i guess what im asking is how am i supposed to do this with the least amount of deconstruction. thanks

I have always had to partially remove that side of the dash no matter what. Its a booger of a job.

When I did mine it was a little stuck so I had to pry the two pieces apart with a flat head. Make sure you have all the screws out and just go easy when prying on it.
