Default E40D Transmission

Hello everyone. I'm the new owner of a 1975 Mustang II with a 302 and a C4 automatic transmission. I'd like to switch to an automatic transmission that has overdrive and the E40D is the strongest Ford has to offer in such a 'small' package. I'm really not interested in the AOD or the current generation in the S197 mustangs. I hear the E40D is a C6 with an overdrive gear so I figured it'd be very close to a C6 in terms of width and height.

I havent heard anything about the E40D. I know some guys have put built AODs in early foxs and even Generation 1 Mustangs. If it is like the C6 then it will be a good tranny and should work well. It will be a little bit more heavy and those C6s are heavy as it is, but you have a lighter car too. Let us know how it works out.
