[78 & 80 Cobra]

Can anyone tell me what you have done to replace the old auxiliary gas tank . Can I replace it with a standard filler tube for a 78 cobra. I read that the auxiliary tank was just added to the V8 models in 78 for an extra 3 gallons of gas.

Yes thats true it was just added in line to give it 3 more galllons, if u got a standard 78 filler tube, u can replace the tank with it.

I have a auxiliary gas tank on my 1976 Cobra and I need of one also, mine is cracked . I'm in the process of trying to find a good use one to replace it.

You can replace it with a filler neck from a 75 to a 78 or you can just remove it have it platic welded. I know that matco and harbor freights both sell a platic welding kit.
