Angry idles fine runs horribly

this is a 2.8 liter on points. it wil idle fine but when you try to drive it, it misses like crazy. it sounds like it has a nasty vaccum leak buti cant find it. I have checked and rechecked that all the vaccum on the intake and carb is either plugged or in order. Here is what i have did so far replaced points, condensor, cap, button, and i have rebuilt the carb set the float correctly brought the carb back to specs. As I said it idles fine low rpms fine anything higher misses but no back fires. I am almost ready to say screw it...found a 74 satellite today for 1500 and right now it is looking AWEFUL nice

Take a small propane tank like from walmart for $2.00. Remove air cleaner and start your engine. Open the flow on the propane tank and pass it oer all of the vacuum lines and listen for the engine to rev. If it does theres your leak. Check your plug wires in the dark that way you can see if there are any places that it is grounding out. How much pressure is your fuel pump putting out. It should be somewhere between 6-9 psi. Mine was doing that and it was the escentric.
