Default Carb help for a 1975 Mustang with 302

Hello all, I have a question. My mustang starts, but and runs but if you come back the next day you have to start the whole process of getting it to start like it hasn't been started in months. I'm not sure if it's the carb or a fuel pump problem? I am an auto body chick more than a mechanic. And my dad says he doesn't have much luck with carbs. So is this an easy answer or do I have to get it checked out somewhere and if I do what's a good place to take it?

Thanks in advance!

Kristy

You may have a beat carburetor that needs a rebuid kit, a small fuel leak somewhere, or a clogged fuel filter. It sounds like maybe the fuel in your fuel line is draining back to your tank after it sits and when you try to start it after sitting for some time there isn't any fuel in the line to get it running.

From what I have experienced in the past with my 77 and what I have read on all the forums, my suggestion would be to drop the tank, have it cleaned out and replace all fuel lines. If this has never been done on your car, chances are after 30 years everything is probably dirty and deteriated and will only cause more fuel delivery problems down the line. My sending unit screen basket was rotted, rusty and clogged causing the car to run lean and played havoc on the fuel pump.
