i just bought a 1987 mustang and i like it exsept for the fact its a 4cyl automatic the hole car is in great shape and is all original but i dont know if i am better off just rebuilding the engine and customizing the looks and outher aspects of the car or just do an engine swap with like a 302 or something if any body has any advice for me or knows where i can get parts please let me know

Before you do a v8 swap, there are a couple of things you should know. First there are a few Mustang II specific parts that you will need besides upgrading the suspension and rear end to accomodate the v8 weight and power. Mustang II v8 motor mounts, mustang II v8 oil pan, and mustang II auto bell housing are three of the must have parts you will need. There are a few MII parts venders out there, but nowhere near as common as other generation mustang venders. Best option would be to buy a MII v8 parts car and swap the parts as you need them.
